Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Tech

  • React

I have used React for 8 years now, still love using it and learning new things about it.

  • Next.js

My go-to framework for building full-stack web applications.

  • Tailwind CSS

Great way to keep styling consistent using utility classes based on design system.

  • Shadcn/UI

Great library for building consistent UI.

  • TypeScript

I came to enjoy using TypeScript more and more.

  • Prettier

    Keeps code formatting consistent.

  • ESLint

Helps keep code style consistent and avoid some errors.

  • Cypress

My go-to tool for E2E testing.

Services

  • GitHub

A place where I host my code. I also usually run CI actions via GitHub actions.

  • Vercel

Simple to use platform for hosting projects.

  • Cal.com

My go-to tool for scheduling meetings.

Workstation

  • 14” MacBook Pro, M1, 16GB RAM (2021)

Perfect balance of portability and power. While sometimes I wish for a bigger screen, I love how light and portable this laptop is so I can bring it everywhere.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard & Mouse

The keyboard and mouse are very unergonomic. Yet, I still enjoy working with them.

  • Apple AirPods Max

The best headphones I've owned so far. I love the active noise cancellation, the sound quality, and the comfort.

  • Apple AirPods Pro

My on-the-go earphones. I love the active noise cancellation and the sound quality.

  • Apple iPhone 12 Mini

My daily driver. I appreciate its compact size, and due to becoming somewhat slow, it stops me from browsing mindlessly too often.

Development tools

  • Cursor IDE

My daily workhorse. I love the built-in AI features like autocomplete, using AI as a rubber duck, and more.

  • iTerm2

Just a reliable terminal that I've been using for a long time.

Design

  • Figma

I use Figma to create prototypes, do some light designing, and also keep design inspiration in one place.

  • Pixelmator

Simpler to use than Photoshop, and has all the features I need. As a bonus, created in Lithuania.

Productivity

  • Raycast

Super helpful app to quickly access folders, switch between projects, and automate other mundane tasks.

  • Obsidian

Note-taking app that uses Markdown files stored on disk. I've been using it to structure my notes, projects, organize my life, and everything in-between.

  • SelfControl

Simple tool for blocking distracting websites when I need to just do the work and get some momentum going.

  • Rize

Time tracking tool I use to get a glimpse of my productivity levels, and better understand how I spend my time on PC.

  • Arc

My new go-to browser. Love using the full-screen more, separated profiles, and many other small but nice improvements and details.
